Slow Food Columbus
The Foodcast for September 22, 2009

1:36- Events
Bethia Woolf joins the Foodcast full time as our news anchor and our newest co-host.
7:53- Mockingbird Meadows Honey
Consider the Honey Bee. Have you given much thought to how much stress modern bee keeping practices puts on the average colony? Luckily for the bees, Dawn and Carson Combs at Mockingbird Meadows have. Dawn is kind enough to take a break from her Field to Table booth to talk with us about what makes their farm special.

15:35- Time for Lunch Eat in
If you attended public school in the United States, then chances are that you don't remember the school provided lunches with any level of fondness. Slow Food USA is partnering with community leaders around the country to promote the idea of fresh whole foods in our childcare's' lunches.
Rebecca Kardas tells us about the Time for Lunch eat in that took place last weekend and what is being done locally so future generations won't be subjected to the same processed cheese pizza and frozen fish sticks that we were.

19:00- The Paw Paw Fest
Bethia and Jim head south to the 2009 Pawpaw Festival. What is a pawpaw? Why is there a festival centered around it? Listen to the show or check out this for more info.
