Thu, 26 June 2008 In which our hosts have dinner with Colleen, leader and one of the founders of Slow Food Columbus, and husband Bear. Jim also makes approximately 5 puns regarding the fast growth of Slow Food Columbus. Slow Food Columbus' first dinner was called Local and Loving It. It should be noted that not many people know what the hell a spice bush berry is. Luckily Jeni does and made some wonderful ice cream with it. Slow Food Columbus has also done a dinner at Alana's that involved some great food and wine pairings. Alana has always supported local sustainable agriculture whenever possible. The Refectory Dinner was another great Slow Food event where "French Country Met Ohio Countryside". In late May, Slow Food Columbus hosted a micro roasting workshop taught by Bear for fellow coffee enthusiasts. Slow Food Columbus is still growing with plenty of events planned. Mockingbird Meadows Tasting and Tour will occur on July 13th. In August there will be a pig roast. There will be a wine dinner later this year, and in September there will be a dinner at Flying J. This Fall there will be a tea tasting and also a Scotch tasting.
